Building a Longer Table: Helping Marin Families Through the SNAP Shutdown
Beginning Saturday, Nov. 1, families across Marin County will start feeling the impact of the federal government shutdown as SNAP (CalFresh) benefits are temporarily halted. For many households — two-thirds women and children — those benefits mean the difference between dinner on the table and an empty refrigerator.
At Moonstone Skincare, we believe abundance is meant to be shared. This month, we’re launching Building a Longer Table, a community matching campaign to help feed local families who need immediate support.
Here’s how it works:
You donate directly to one of our trusted local partners — SF-Marin Food Bank or North Marin Community Services.
We match your donation, dollar for dollar, up to $3,000 total.
We send funds out weekly, so the help reaches families right away.
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
The campaign will continue until SNAP benefits are reinstated, or our $3,000 match is reached — whichever comes first.
We’ll also honor all you donors with your name on our Longer Table Gratitude Wall. Each name represents another family fed, another neighbor supported, and another small act of generosity multiplied.
When people are struggling to feed their kids, beauty takes a back seat. This is our way of saying: If you have more than you need, build a longer table, not a higher wall.
You can donate today, then bring your receipt in, or email it to us at info@moonstoneskincare.com, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Because no one in Marin should have to choose between caring for their family and putting food on the table.
Together, we can make sure every family has a seat — and a meal — at our longer table. 💖
