A little pice of Novato history

Long before Moonstone Skincare, there was Real Kind: a small Novato apothecary Susannah started in 2014 creating handcrafted, plant-based skincare and bath & body products inspired by nature, ritual, and everyday magic.

Over the years, one product developed an almost ridiculous local following: Mosquito Spray.

It started as a simple DEET-free alternative for families who wanted something effective, skin-safe, and natural smelling. But pretty quickly, it became the thing people came back for over and over again.

The spray everyone kept asking about

For years, Real Kind’s Mosquito Spray was the product Novato families couldn’t stop talking about.

People kept bottles by the front door. In soccer bags. In strollers. In glove compartments. Moms passed it around at baseball games and park playdates like contraband treasure.

And for one simple reason: it actually works.
