When We Can't Wax You (For Your Safety)
We cannot perform waxing if you:
Are currently using Accutane (must stop 1 year prior to waxing)
Are using Adapalene, Avage, Differin, acid-based products, Tretinoin, Isotretinoin, retinol, Retin-A, or any other prescription acne medications (must stop 5-7 days prior to waxing)
Are using Prednisone or steroids, hydroquinone, blood-thinners, or medications for autoimmune disease
Use alpha hydroxy acids over 8%
Have sunburned, irritated, or broken skin
Have active cold sores, rashes, or skin infections
Are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation
Have severe rosacea, eczema, or psoriasis flare-ups
Have a diagnosis of lupis or HIV
Recently used a tanning bed (within 24 hours)
Have had laser treatments or chemical peels (wait 2-4 weeks)
Have recently had corrective or reconstructive surgery
If you have diabetes, lupus, or are pregnant, please consult your doctor first.
When We Need to Be Extra Careful
Let your esthetician know if you:
Are taking antibiotics or blood thinners
Have sensitive skin or are prone to reactions
Recently drank alcohol or lots of caffeine (this can increase your sensitivity)
Are pregnant, or are on hormonal medications or birth control
Have varicose veins
Are a smoker or have rosacea (waxing can aggravate dilated capillaries)
We may do a “patch test” first to check your skin's reaction.

Take ibuprofen 30 minutes before your appointment if you're sensitive to pain
